Red here. It's a lovely windy afternoon here at the Mulligan Golf Hotel in Boracay, and the island is abuzz with the latest news making the rounds.

Apparently, Boracay's going to be open again to topless sunbathers!

The prospect of Boracay topless sunbathing, of course, has some of us here at the Mulligan Golf Hotel in Boracay wondering whether that'll increase our reservations; we're one of the highest situated Boracay hotels, and we've got a great view of the beach. Hahaha! Of course, we would never dream of spying on our guests, and we wouldn't encourage our guests to do similarly either, but if there's any time to go topless sunbathing in Boracay, now's the time because it's the 'low season' and there aren't that many tourists crowding our beaches. Boracay nightlife right now is still awesome, but this time, there's a little more space for dancing.

On a side note, the "One Entry, one Exit" policy now being implemented by Task Force Bantay Boracay (Task Force Boracay Watch, in English), is something we at the Mulligan never thought we'd get on board with until recently. It's been harder on some of the other resorts that are further away from the entry and exit point at Cagban, admittedly, but there's a great payback. Suddenly, our waters are free of those pump boats that used to drop off Guests anywhere on the beach in front of their respective Boracay resorts and Boracay hotels. It's helped the Boracay tourism sector, and now much has improved. Our beachwaters are cleaner, the wind feels fresher, and there's a general feeling of freedom about the island that wasn't there before.

Of course, I don't feel that freedom much, since I haven't given up on the dream of going seven below par. Anyone wanna challenge me to a match? I dare ye.

Preparing for the Caddie Shack Golf Tournament in Boracay

Hello! This is Red again. It's July 25, and I've just come back from an exhausting round of golf at the Fairways & Bluewater golf course in Boracay, right beside the Mulligan Golf Hotel, where I have the immense pleasure of serving golfers from all over the world. I played with two of our Guests, an effervescent Japanese-American named Ken, and Paul, a jovial Brit (most of our British guests seem to be jovial; I can't describe him better!). Ken and Paul enjoyed themselves immensely; I, meanwhile, fell another 12 strokes short of par.

It normally wouldn't be as exhausting, but I decided to forego the golf cart as part of my regimen to get in shape for the Caddie Shack Golf Tournament in Boracay. This annual Boracay golf tournament takes place in September, and I am huffy and puffy. July is a generally quiet month here in Boracay, and it's the best time to go golfing if you're after peace and quiet. (Not so much if you're a novice golfer; the gusts of wind here, as a result of the starting rainy season, can throw you completely off course.)

In 2007, the Caddie Shack Golf Tournament in Boracay will start September 9 and end September 15. That buys me a few more months to get my game back, but I've decided to do it sans Guests, because it does terrible things to my self-esteem. If you decide to come and stay at our golf hotel in Boracay, please don't ask me for a game, unless you like winning. Hahaha.

If you're thinking about coming to play at the Caddie Shack Golf Tournament in Boracay, you can book directly on our website for September 9 - 15. (You may want to come in earlier and leave a little later, because our beaches will make you regret booking just for the duration of this Boracay golf tournament.) Our website offers online reservation for as far ahead as September, with instant confirmation, at the lowest rates you'll ever find for our hotel online, guaranteed. I'll post more information on Caddie Shack as this Boracay golf tournament draws nearer.

Until the next time you swing by! - Red

We're blogging now at the Mulligan Golf Resort in Boracay!

Hello! My name is Red, and the awesome task of maintaining the blog of the Mulligan Golf Hotel in Boracay has fallen on my suntanned shoulders. When I was told I'd be handling the blog, I literally did a backflip on the beach. If you love beaches and golf as much as I do, and you get to be with people who share these twin loves, well, you'd be doing backflips too.

You see, the Philippine island of Boracay is absolutely breathtaking, one of the best beaches in the world (according to Yahoo and AskMen). The fact that Boracay is an amazing beach already blows my mind; I don't exaggerate when I tell you it is unbelievable. Plus, I get the funfunfun task of helping those at our golf hotel in Boracay entertain golfing enthusiasts who stay with us. Have you heard of the Fairways & Bluewater golf course in Boracay right beside us? No? It's one of the Pacific's best-kept golf course secrets. I've been here a while, and I have the woeful record of making par just four times. Hahahaha!

It's a charmed life, I tell you. I get to maintain the blog, and I get to share about how awesome it is to go golfing in Boracay.

So here's what I'm going to do. This blog will keep Guests updated on all things golfing in Boracay. From the Boracay golf tournaments to our own in-house (in-hotel? Whatever works for you!) promotions and Guest surprises, if you want the dirt, bookmark this page. If you're planning to visit Boracay soon, and are thinking of logging in a round (or six!), I'll give you regular reasons to consider staying with us at the Mulligan Golf Hotel in Boracay. The bottom line is this: when you check in with us at the Mulligan, you check in at a Boracay hotel that stamps its mark firmly on our twin loves of the beach and golf. If you're a golfer who loves the beach, or if you're a beach bum who loves golf, we're the place for you.

Until next time you swing by! - Red
